PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF PETROLEUM ETHER
- Petroleum Ether consists of volatile fraction derived from petroleum and is composed essentially of paraffinic, naphthenic and aromatic hydrocarbons in varying proportions. It falls under Class A category of petroleum products.
Application
Tire Industry in temporary binding of layers of rubber/rubberized fabrics. The application of Petroleum Ether between each layer,
results in thickening of the surfaces and satisfactory adhesion until the layers are eventually welded together by vulcanization
As thinner for varnish, paint and printing ink formulations when quick drying is required
As diluents for lacquers, enamels, high-grade leather dopes and as a solvent for processing polishes, cleaning and water proofing compounds
